All the #CountryFeels for this family session in Dubbo!
There are times in your life where you will come across the most genuine, kind, fun-loving people, who you feel you've known your entire life; this has been my experience with Mellissa.
Mel and her two beautiful boys are well known to our family - John used to work with Mel, and her boys attend the same centre, so it was such a pleasure to photograph them.
This day was so hot that we needed to reschedule the session for an hour later and commit to knocking the entire session out in less than an hour.
When you're working with kids, you need to be incredibly flexible.. especially when it comes to having them out in the heat.
6pm is part of 'witching hour' in almost every household with children.. so we often expect a bit of push-back from the young ones, but these boys were WONDERFUL!
If you're reading this and intend to book a session with us for your family, or you've already booked one and wanted to dive into what to expect, let me tell you, it's often not a walk in the park! There's often tears.. lots. And every toddler we've ever photographed never wants to look at my camera.. ever. But you have to expect these things or you're going to get stressed and, I promise, you'll see that in the photos! Just relax and go with it. If the kiddos aren't having it, let them do what they want to do and YOU go along with THEM.. those are when the most beautiful photographs happen.
In this case, it was a walk in the park. The only stressor was the heat, which we were all busting our butts to get out of!
Truly the most wonderful family.
Mel, thank you for allowing me to photograph your beautiful family and for trusting me when I suggest a little spot on the side of the road and swear to you the potential it holds. You are raising two incredible boys and we are so thankful to have met you all and had the chance to get to know you before our big move to New Zealand. We will definitely be back to Dubbo for a follow up shoot!
all my love,
Erin .x
